Food

FOOD; as much as we think is available to everyone irrespective of where they live, it is something millions of people around the world go without, on a regular basis. At home, by some estimates, around 49 million people living in the United States live in food-insecure households. And sadly over 16 million of these people are children, which means roughly one in five children are distracted by basic food-insecurity, instead of doing things they should be in order to expand & realize their full potential. These children are facing difficult situations, and are more likely to focus on finding their next meal, then spending time learning at school and home. And from a global perspective, it’s even worse, where millions more are living without sufficient food.

The situation is same for adults, especially Senior Citizens, as they are at greater risk of facing health issues, because of their food-insecurity. There are millions of senior citizens in this country and around the world who struggle to choose between paying for food costs VS buying medicines, and for their other medical and mobility needs.

As I take my journey further through Oxijn, I intend to share more insights on this very important, and often neglected necessity.
